Visited the homeland recently...

Went to some football matches, saw some old friends and spent some quality family time.

GREAT CONCERT WEEK!

I had a tremendous concert week. Monday was Radiohead, live at the Blossom Music Center near Akron. Truly amazing. This show was unlike anything I'd ever experienced before musically or visually. Very Impressive, eerie, sensory overload!

Friday and Saturday was the New American Music Festival on the Southside in Pittsburgh. Very well put together by Anthony Kiedis. He did appear but did not perform. Friday was the Black Keys and The Roots. Saturday was Gnarls Barkley, The Raconteurs, and Bob Dylan.

I was most excited to see Gnarls Barkley who did not dissapoint. Cee-Lo's voice was booming and soulful. Great beats and sounds. They blew me away by playing 'Reckoner' a cover from Radioheads 'In Rainbows'. It really brought the week to an end full circle for me. That song is awesome and powerful. A great choice to cover. They have a recent concert from London on MSN which has much of the same set list....check it ot:

Bob Dylan closed out the festival. He didn't sound great vocally but I'd seen him before and kind of knew to expect that. The harmonica was there though.

When not at work I spend much of my time at PNC Park.

I work as a freelance Broadcast Technician (translation: I operate the 'Fox Box' for MLB games).

It's a great gig and I am grateful everytime I set foot in the TV truck. I wish the Pirates would do better but what can you do? A few less rain delays would be good too! Peace.

Spent a few days on the open top bus in DC. What a great city. Lots of Cool sites. Very impressed with the National Cathedral. Capitol Hill's impressive also, I wish the politicians inside would get it together. PEACE.

NYC

Visited NYC again in April.

It was a great trip.

Visited Battery Park and Wall Street for the first time.
Stopped at Ground Zero. Respect.
Watched some football at Nevada Smith's. Went to Bleeker Street Rrecords.
Visited the Dakota. Respect. Nice experience except for the dickhead security guard.
Braved Yankee Stadium again. Bloody miserable New Yorkers. Time to go.

La Roche Graduation tomorrow. Congratulations to the Class of 2008!

I am eagerly awaiting the summertime. Alas, it always seesm to go by so quickly.
I will certainly be enjoying May and June!

No huge summer plans. My dad and step mum will be visiting.
Looking forward to that. And working in the yard.

I am not a fan of president Bush.....Well, actually he is a genius and probably the most brilliant, savvy politician of our lifetime. Could he have been any more brilliant?

I mean, he has been able to convince congress (and 300 million people) that going to war was a good idea. A just war? vs. Iraq? Over 9/11, despite no Iraqi involvement, Why?

Let's get us some terrorists already. Anyone seen Bin Laden?
Good thing that Pakistan is our ally....

But I digress.....The Red Sox visited the White House today and this one is a gem.......From the man himself

Let It Begin....My First Rant

Blog III, Volume I

OK, well let's start here.

I think the war is a sad joke. We should never have started it and we'll never be able to finish it.

We will be spending money and losing good soldiers over there for years. Bloody sad. How many Iraqi's were involved in the 9/11 attacks? I rest my case? Where is Bin Laden? I rest my case.

I am not anti-military. Both of my grandparents helped save the free world in WWII. There are just causes. There are literally hundreds of conflicts going on around the world right now - what is so important about this one.........$$$$$$$$......a lot of fat cats are getting richer every day at our expense. AND THEY WANT US TO FORGET THAT WE ARE AT WAR. Who gives a shit about steroids or spygate. WTF are congress doing?

What of the wounded vets, and the families of the dead? We can't even care for them. We spend BILLIONS on war machinery with nothing to show but BLOOD while our education system, our infrastructure, our children and our senior citizens all suffer.

I 100% support the troops and sympathize with them. I think it's sad that our congress allowed this to happen. Politicians are week, greedy, egomanics. What ever happened to civil service?

I have never seen such a sad political system than the one we have today. This is democracy? When the masses are fed false information by those who are trusted.

All ethical behavior has gone out of the window.

The constitution of this nation is largely ignored by those who should be upholding it the most.

I'm supporting a change in this nation. I am supporting Barack Obama. God Bless America
